Installing an AC outdoor unit bracket correctly is crucial for the safety and longevity of your split AC system. A poorly mounted bracket can damage the wall, increase compressor vibrations, and even cause the unit to fall.

Why a Quality AC Bracket Matters

The outdoor unit (ODU) of a split AC weighs 25-60 kg depending on tonnage. This heavy unit needs a bracket that can handle not just its weight, but also the vibrations from the compressor during operation. Cheap brackets rust quickly in Indian weather conditions, especially in coastal cities like Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.

Types of AC Brackets

  • Load Capacity: Match to your AC tonnage. 1 ton AC units typically weigh 30-35 kg, 1.5 ton units weigh 35-45 kg, and 2 ton units weigh 45-60 kg. Always choose a bracket rated 50% higher than your unit's weight.

  • Anti-Vibration: Rubber dampeners between the bracket and the unit reduce noise significantly.
